Dr. Donald English is a licensed psychologist and founder of Sage Psychology, LLC, offering individual  psychotherapy for accomplished professionals navigating the particular pressures of high-responsibility careers. His clientele includes physicians, psychologists, psychiatrists, attorneys,

healthcare executives and academic faculty — individuals for whom discretion, clinical rigor, and a sophisticated understanding of professional culture are essential to effective care.

With over 25 years of experience across academic medical centers, university health systems, and private practice, Dr. English brings a depth of clinical and administrative expertise not commonly found in general practice. He currently serves as Clinical Assistant Professor at the Florida State University College of Medicine, where he provides psychotherapy and consultation to physicians-in-training and health-science faculty — work that has given him particular insight into the demands of medicine, high-stakes decision-making, perfectionism, and the toll of sustained professional performance. Earlier in his career, he served as Associate Director of Clinical Operations at Florida State University, overseeing a clinical staff of more than forty and advising university leadership on complex mental health and risk-management matters.

Dr. English's clinical approach is evidence-based and outcome-focused, informed by advanced training in Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, EMDR and Motivational Interviewing. He works collaboratively with clients to address anxiety, burnout, career transitions, relationship strain, and the identity pressures that often accompany demanding, high-visibility professions. Sessions are conducted with the confidentiality and professionalism his clients require, and are available via secure telehealth in most U.S. states through his PSYPACT authorization, allowing continuity of care regardless of travel or relocation.

Dr. English holds a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Memphis, an M.S. in Clinical Psychology from Loyola College, and a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh. He is licensed in Florida and holds Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology through the PSYPACT Commission.
